The Jump int the Deep Freeze- Traveling to Switzerland

On Thursday, February 2, I left with 6 of my fellow architecture class mates, caught a train to the airport, and flew to Geneva, Switzerland. Upon arrival, we exchanged our Euros for Swiss Franks and then embraced the single digit temperature (in Fahrenheit) in order to catch a tram into the city to grab a bite to eat. It was interesting to say the least as we trekked through icy and snowy streets with our luggage in search of a restaurant. We quickly discovered that the cost of living in Switzerland is much more expensive than we were used to, with the average entree costing around 20 Swiss Franks (which is comparable to the US dollar in value). After finally settling on dinner a small sandwich shop, we made our way back to the airport to meet the bus that would take us to Interlaken.

After the two hour bus ride to Interlaken, we finally arrived at our hostel. It was a cute old building with tons of character and was built in the traditional Swiss style. However, after receiving our room assignment, we struggled to find its location. Finally one of the guys in our group decided to use the bathroom, while the rest of us continued the search. A few moments later, he returned and announced that he had located our room. The door to our room happened to be inside the boy's bathroom. Needless to say, we kept our door shut for most of the weekend!
