Since today was Saturday, we decided to take a mini-day trip to visit the Villa Borghese, which is a large park located in the northern side of Rome. We used the metro to help get ourselves more familiar with using the public transportation system. Along the way we saw many other interesting sights. These included seeing The Mouth of Truth, located at Santa Maria in Cosmedin on our way to the metro, seeing and climbing the Spanish Steps on our the park, and then finally going into Piazza Del Popolo on our way out of the park. All together it was a really great day that somehow seemed to involved climbing a lot of steps!
The Mouth of Truth; legend said if you put your hand it and nothing happened you were telling the truth |
